Scott Tulloch is an Australian and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in surgery of the knee and hip. Scott grew up in Melbourne and received his medical degree from Monash University with Honours. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
Scott worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Alfred Health (Sandringham) and Western Health for 18 months performing a wide variety of elective cases and gained extensive experience in trauma surgery. He then undertook a 12-month fellowship at the prestigious Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in Ontario, Canada specialising in sports knee surgery. During this time he treated many elite athletes including Olympic skiers and developed advanced surgical skills, particularly in the management of ACL injuries under the guidance of world leading surgeons. He also spent 3 months visiting centres of excellence in Europe and the USA to gain further experience in knee and hip arthroplasty including anterior minimally invasive THR and robotic surgery of the knee and hip.
Scott is actively involved in research and has published multiple papers related to sports knee surgery and speaks regularly at both local and international meetings. Scott is passionate about teaching future generations of doctors and surgeons and is involved in training University of Melbourne medical students and advanced orthopaedic trainees through his public appointment at Western Health.
Scott prides himself on open and honest communication and involves patients and their families in the decision-making process at every stage of their care. He utilises the latest technology and surgical techniques to provide the safest, most accurate and individualised treatment to promote better outcomes for his patients. He finds the ability to restore mobility and function to people from all ages and backgrounds extremely rewarding.
Scott is a big advocate for work-life balance. Outside hospital hours you will find him pursuing his passion for health and fitness. He is recently married, and he and his wife enjoy exploring the culture and foodie scene of Melbourne and Victoria.
